I kept that Triple Crown hope door open, I was so hoping he would win..but, it turned out to be a Hot Pace and Calvin Borel shouldn’t of had Super Saver up there so early in a Hot Pace, and I’m sure racing hard two weeks before, winning the Derby took a lot of him. The other horses that ran in the Derby slowed their pace knowing they weren’t going to win…basically saving themselves for the next race.. The times were really quick early. Many thought it was going to be a slow pace, including me. It just goes to show anything can happen in horse racing. Well, now that all is said and done, I too, I’m very lucky that all horses and connections are safe, healthy and lucky!

My Picks were, Super Saver, Lookin At Lucky, Jackson Bend…I guess two out of three ain’t terrible..lol! Looking At Lucky and Jackson Bend save the day for me..lol!

Looking forward to the Belmont…Ice Box will be tough to beat!! Hope to see you nearly Belmont time, in 3 weeks.

My team is still putting information collectively before we lock in our exacta and trifecta picks, but we’ve got a small list that we’re currently looking at with Lookin At Lucky, Dublin and few others amongst them. We’re gonna wait it out for another day or two before making any authoritative decisions, but we’re getting accurate. Excellent luck everyone!
Answered by JSC
Well, if history has anything to do with winning the Triple Crown, Super Saver has a chance here! I like to look for value normally, but very interested in seeing a Triple Crown, and hope value comes with a long shot while betting a Trifecta Box, using Schoolyard Dreams- His 4th place end in the Wood Memorial caused him to miss out on the Kentucky Derby, but he’s back for the Preakness Stakes. This horse finished ahead of Super Saver in the Tampa Bay Derby. He may be one to watch on May 15th. Schoolyard Dreams’ previous races are: Wood Memorial, and the Tampa Bay Derby.

Pleasant Prince- This closer was narrowly defeated by Ice Box, sprinter-up in the Kentucky Derby, in the Florida Derby on March 20th. With A Small Warm, a proven speed ball pace setter, being out of the Preakness the fractions may not be quick enough for Pleasant Prince’s preferred closing style. A closer typically sits far back in the field and waits for the early speedsters to tire, and then moves up in a closing drive to pick off the tiring leaders.

Tri-Box -

Huge Brown at Belmont (Triple Crown race)?

Question
I’ve been watching Huge Brown (try out the videos below) and I reckon that he is a real race horse. I reckon he is a freak of nature (with a turbo button –white patch- to boost) and that we are in the presence of enormity, but that’s just my opinion.

What’s your opinion? Is the 3YO field weak this year (can you show evidence of this)?

Can Casino Drive really take him at the Belmont Stakes? I’ve enclosed the only two races that CD has been in. Does he impress you as much as BB? I know he has the pedigree for the distance, but can he really beat the “Freak”?

Can Dennis of Cork really pull it out? He finished fifth at Illinois and a far third at the K-Derby. Does he really have it in him? What about Macho Again?

What about BB’s front feet (can they soubriquet all this running)? In the challenge of a “game” race can he really win a duel? What do you reckon?

the bar horse if he is healthy! the teacher is setting him up for this race! i reckon the teacher knows best in this case and gave the bar a rest for this 1mile and 1/2 race…i do not reckon he was hurt at all…casino drive has the breeding and is surely part of the trifecta!
Answered by no.1cards
I wouldn’t call Huge Brown a freak. His times are no quicker than previous Derby, Preakness winners. The 3yo field is weak this year.Casino drive is very capable of winning the Belmont.
Answered by Orion777
Well, Casino Drive has better breezing times right now than Huge Brown. There is no such thing as a sure thing in horse racing. I have seen “the sure thing” bolt at the starting gate and throw his rider as the race started! This is why they call it gambling….
Answered by Rhonda H
I will not have win money on Huge Brown because if he does win, he will not pay anything worth the bet. I am not too convinced that he is a sure lock in. How many times in the past have we seen the Derby-Preakness winner falter in the Belmont. I reckon that Casino Drive and Macho Again will be in the money. Add Behiondthebar and Tale if Ekati and we may not see a triple crown,
But if we do, I would NOT give the credit to that teacher.

Hockey on pay-per-view?

Question
I read an article today (further adds to the incompetence of Bettman) that confirmed that maybe this would be the way to go. It mentions the De La Hoya/ Mayweather fight brought in 120 million to HBO. Versus payed 55 million for a whole season’s worth of hockey. It also confirmed that the whole Buffalo/Ottawa Preakness game that NBC bounced because they payed millions to air the race while NBC paid nothing for the hockey game, they just made them a “partner.”

Would this system work better for the USA, especially in the play-offs.

If anyone wants to read the article, it is at philly.com-sports and is written by Sam Donnellon, free “NHL’s future on TV can’t be of poorer quality than the past”. Try out it out- a excellent read for you die-hards IMO.
Andy- did I say NHL center ice package?
TheOnlyBeldin- if you read the report he touches on this. Unknown watches boxing when it is on for free either LOL but they pay for over-hyped matches. Excellent point but this guy (Donnellen) makes a excellent point too.

Answered by andy
Are you talking about the NHL Center Ice package Direct TV offers?
Answered by J R
I say the NHL goes the way of NFL and makes an NHL network. Except make them the major source of NHL games, a touch the NFL doesn’t do because they have better coverage. The advertising, extra money you’d have to pay to get the channel, and contracting of games further than of the channel would make up for the cost of running it itself. Too much money? Broaden it to all hockey…get the AHL into it, maybe roller hockey, field hockey, institution hockey, pee-wee hockey, and make it a Canada run network….more Canadians will watch and it will sell like hotcakes in Canada.

Yeah it’d never happen, but it’s a thought.

Answered by TheOnlyBeldin
They can barely get anyone to watch it on free TV and they reckon there’s money to be made by taking it all to PPV further than of NHL Center Ice?
Answered by JK Nation
He has a point…they have NOTHING to lose. Nothing. Less than nothing. Nada.

I don’t really see this working because there are too many areas in which hockey is just not analogous to boxing. But…who knows…I guess it could work. Or maybe it’ll just work better than this.

What would annoy me about pay per view is that I would have to pay to watch the games. I don’t like any sport enough to pay to watch the games…unless it’s like 5 bucks. Thirty bucks though? Forty? Fifty? I’m not going to get a bunch of people to watch it with me so it’s not really worth it.

That another thing. Boxing gets a lot of its sales to people who watch it as a group. Excellent luck finding a bunch of buddies who wanna spend the night watching hockey…not gonna happpen in America methinks.

But give this guy points for being creative.

Do horses get jet lag ?

Question
I’m watching coverage of todays Preakness and they were talking about how they glide in horses from California for the race and glide them back after . Just curious if flying takes them off there game :) ). Thanks
Answered by Cindy B
In my source list is an article about whether or not horses can suffer from jet lag. Basically it says horses are better equipped than humans to soubriquet jet lag.

Horses are individuals, like humans, so some probably ship better than others.

Answered by prole1984
Only if they wernt able to go their seats all the way back and recline.
Answered by elway4_prez
my source is from an olympic horse teacher. She says that horses do get jet lag. She said the horses seem 2 be grouchy and literally “out of it” for a few days after a flight.
Answered by GreatNeck
Sure they do, only it is more like stress for them…
